Hi! I’m Tanya — a proud single mama, high school teacher, and the stardust strategist behind Nova1Gemz.
Originally from North Jersey, I now call South Jersey home, just outside of Philly.
My journey into the galaxy of sparkle began with my son, Nova — the inspiration behind our name and cosmic vibe. He’s not only the reason behind it all, but also the north star guiding every step I take.

Teaching has always been my calling, but like many educators, I needed to find ways to make ends meet—especially during the summer months. After nearly a decade in the classroom and juggling everything from Wawa shifts to Uber Eats and DoorDash deliveries—sometimes three jobs at once—I finally discovered a side hustle that sparked something in me: cosmetic tooth gems and whitening. It wasn’t just another gig—it was a radiant new path that launched me into a whole new galaxy of creativity and confidence.

My love for this art form began when my best friend got her first gems. Once I moved, it was tough finding a local artist—until I came across Sweet Peach Studios. Huge shoutout to Elle, a certified dental hygienist and amazing mentor, who introduced me to the world of cosmetic dental artistry. From there, I trained with SparkleByMaya, where I not only sourced my Swarovski crystals, opal gems and gold charms but also earned my tooth whitening certification.

While balancing full-time teaching, single motherhood, and working toward my master’s degree, I’ve poured my heart into Nova1Gemz as a passion project with purpose. My dream is to one day expand into a larger studio—a vibrant, creative space where student artwork shines, open mics uplift young voices, and community events empower the next generation of stars.
